Good Fences and Thankful Thursday

New Albany, Mississippi, USA, September 8, 2017
This fence helps keep pedestrians safe as they cross a bridge at The Park Along The River (The Tallahatchie River in northeast Mississippi). The road is for bicycles and golf cart type vehicles, not for automobiles.

For Thankful Thursday:
I am thankful for outdoor spaces that are set aside for people to enjoy the natural world.

I was walking at The Park Along The River when a Hackberry Emperor Butterfly, Asterocampa celtis, lit on the front of my shirt! (That is the toe of my shoe at the top of the photo). Maybe I should title this photo: Self Portrait With Butterfly!

I hope you have a beautiful day!

  3. Cute pic of the butterfly and your shoe. The antenna is right over your shoe, lol. I'm enjoying the butterflies here in Kentucky, too.

  4. Very thoughtful of them to put a fence between pedestrians and vehicles, even if it's only bikes, scooters, etc.

    Lovely butterfly shot!

  5. I'm pretty sure it must be good luck to have a butterfly land on you like that! And such a pretty one too. I'm thankful for places like that too.
